Student Leadership

“Student Voice is not something we give; it is something we honour. We do this when we listen.”

At Hendon School Student Voice is an integral part of the school community. It provides students with the opportunity to work with leaders of the school to help create a positive and welcoming community where all members feel like they are listened to and they belong.

Last year the students voiced their desire for a house system at Hendon. The student voice team used whole school student feedback to develop a house system that met the needs of all members in the school community. The house system, designed and launched by the student voice team has been running successfully for two terms with years 7-9 and will be expanded to years 10 and 11 in September 2024. New leadership roles have been created in HS6 to support the running of the house systems, with 4 Head of House and Deputy Head of House roles appointed.

Student Voice have also collected feedback for a number of different areas that they have looked to develop. Such as introducing ‘Theme days’ in the school canteen that allow students to explore foods from around the world once a month.
