Grade Sheet Guidance

At Hendon School, we are committed to ensuring that every student develops the knowledge and skills they need to flourish and achieve their academic potential. A key part of this journey is our approach to assessment, where grade sheets play a crucial role.

What is a Grade Sheet?

A grade sheet is a set of criteria that allows teachers to assess students' progress. It helps to ensure consistency, fairness, and transparency in how grades are assigned. By clearly outlining expectations, grade sheets enable both students and teachers to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and celebrate successes along the way.

Academic Flight Paths

At our school, we use academic flight paths to track and support student progress in an aspirational yet realistic way. These flight paths take into account each student's starting point, ensuring that targets are both challenging and achievable.

Student progress is colour-coded for clarity:

  • Green indicates that a student is performing above their target.

  • The actual grade shows how well they are doing compared to their peers.

This approach allows us to celebrate progress, identify areas for support, and ensure that every student is on a trajectory towards success.

Supporting Every Student

At Hendon School, we believe that every student can succeed, and we strive to provide the necessary support and guidance to help them do so. We are proud of our approach and the dedication of both our teachers and students, working together to achieve excellence in education.
