Summary:
Information Technology and Computer Science, the convergence of Computer and network technology, is a highly transformative discipline. It touches nearly all aspects of our lives: the way we work, learn, communicate, socialise and entertain ourselves. Where would we be without it?
These days, success in any occupational field, be it law, medicine, business, education, entertainment, finance, etc. requires a command of IT.
Course Outline:
Unit R050: IT in the digital world (Exam 40%)
Unit R060: Data manipulation using spreadsheets (NEA 30%)
Unit R070: Using Augmented Reality to present information (NEA 30%)
Entrance Requirements:
Students who are taking courses leading to this qualification should normally have a corresponding Key Stage 3 Programme of Study within the National Curriculum.
We recommend that learners are working towards, a grade 4/grade C or above in maths and English GCSEs or an equivalent Level 2 qualification.
