Exam board AQA https://www.aqa.org.uk/subjects/physical-education/gcse/physical-education-8582
Students that study GCSE PE have 3 lessons a week, alongside a further hour of core PE. The GCSE PE lessons are made up of 2 theory and 1 practical lesson. In the practical lessons they will cover a variety of sports to allow them to have access to both team and individual sports. The practical moderation consists of students being accessed in three sports; two team and one individual OR two individual and one team. The weighting of the course is shown below:
Paper One: 30%
Paper two: 30%
Practical Sport: 30%
Analysis & Evaluation Coursework: 10%
Practical Sport:
Students are expected to compete in sport outside of the classroom. This may be through our extensive extra-curricular program at Hendon School or through outside clubs. We encourage students to be playing three sports at least once a week whether that is in a training/practising capacity at school or competitively outside of school.
Theoretical Sport:

Paper one (The human Body and movement in Physical Activity and sport) will include the following topics; Applied anatomy and physiology, Movement analysis and Physical training. Paper two (Social Cultural influences and wellbeing in physical activity and sport) will include the following topics; Sports psychology, Social cultural influences and health, fitness and well-being.
